This guide is for users affiliated with Keio University.
Institutions and users may not:
All current Keio University faculty, staff, and students are considered valid users. Restrictions may apply depending on the user’s contract details. Access to electronic resources that are only provided by certain campuses may be limited. Shinanomachi Campus-affiliated faculty, staff, and students are considered valid users for all electronic resources licensed by the Shinaomachi Media Center.
For a fee, non-affiliated alumni (Graduate School of Medicine alumni as well as Sanshikai, Kobaikai, and Ken Mane Mita-Kai members) are able to access electronic resources at the Media Center.
[Walk-in Access to eResources]
Users must respect the copyrights in any item they print or download. Permission to temporarily or semi-permanently store downloads for personal research purposes is at the discretion of the publisher.
The Media Center’s proxy server allows authorized members of the Keio community to access restricted databases from off campus. The proxy server lets users access databases anonymously and also allows for caching. Your browser will contact the proxy server to request a page, and the proxy then stores that page in its cache. The next time that page is accessed it is served from the cache at local network speeds.
IP address authentication is the traditional method used to identify users requesting access to electronic resources. Some databases will not allow access via the proxy server because there is no way to confirm that all users in the group are valid or not. If your IP address is within the registration range, you may be able to read the full text by disconnecting from the proxy server.
